The 10-metre Air Pistol is the flagship discipline at AGSR Sonipat and the ideal starting point for any new shooter. Participants fire from a standing unsupported position at an electronic target 10 metres away, using a compressed-air pistol.
At AGSR, this event uses our 2 electronic target machines that display scores in real time with decimal precision (0.0 to 10.9) — exactly matching ISSF competition conditions. Beginners use our 5 academy pistols completely free.
10m Air Pistol is physically accessible to all ages and body types, making it one of the most inclusive Olympic sports. It develops extraordinary focus, breath control, and fine motor precision.

The 10-metre Air Rifle is another entry-level Olympic discipline that tests a shooter's ability to hold a rifle in perfect stillness while executing a controlled trigger pull. Unlike pistol, the rifle rests against the shoulder, requiring full-body stability from foot to cheek.
Air rifle demands exceptional core strength, breathing control, and mental stillness. It is widely regarded as one of the most technically demanding precision sports in the world — and one of the most rewarding to master.
AGSR trains air rifle shooters in the ISSF 3-position and 10m standing formats, with our electronic targets providing instant decimal feedback on every shot.

The 25-metre Pistol is a uniquely exciting Olympic discipline that blends two very different shooting skills — deliberate precision and split-second rapid fire. It is typically the natural progression for shooters who have mastered 10m Air Pistol.
The 25m event at AGSR encompasses two sub-disciplines: Sports Pistol (precision + rapid fire combined) and Standard Fire (multiple time-pressure series). Both demand exceptional trigger control, mental composure, and the ability to transition between focused deliberate aim and fast instinctive shooting.
30 precision shots (6 minutes per group of 5) + 30 rapid fire shots (3 seconds per shot at a turning target). Total 60 shots. Tests your ability to switch between patient precision and explosive rapid fire.
Five series of 5 shots each at a stationary target, with decreasing time limits: 150 seconds, then 20 seconds, then 10 seconds per series. Pure speed-accuracy trade-off under pressure.
Olympic rapid fire at 5 turning targets — 5 shots in 4 seconds, 5 shots in 6 seconds, 5 shots in 8 seconds. For advanced competitive shooters aiming for national selection.
Speed-accuracy balance — hitting 10s under extreme time pressure
Adrenaline management — staying composed during rapid-fire bursts
Target acquisition — finding the target instantly and shooting cleanly
Dual-mode shooting — switching between precision and reactive modes
We recommend at least 6-12 months of 10m Air Pistol training before moving to 25m. The fundamentals of grip, trigger control, and mental composure must be solid before adding speed.

The 50-metre Free Pistol is the pinnacle of Olympic precision pistol shooting — a true test of mastery. Shot at 50 metres, it demands perfect technique, extraordinary mental concentration, and complete command of the shooter's physical and psychological state.
Every tiny flaw in stance, grip, or trigger control is amplified fivefold compared to 10m. This is the discipline that defines a shooter's career at the highest levels — and AGSR trains students in its exact ISSF format, building toward state and national championships.
50m Free Pistol has been an Olympic event since the 1896 Athens Games — the very first modern Olympics. At AGSR, training for this discipline is reserved for our most dedicated, advanced students on the national competition track.
